Congress has yet to pass the 2024 farm bill, which determines funding for programs like crop insurance and conservation. The largest portion of the bill goes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and billions for that program are now on the chopping block as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce federal spending.
