Safety and affordability are likely two concerns at the forefront of your mind when shopping for children. Well, worry no more. PBS KIDS and Whole Foods Market have teamed up to put your mind at ease with PlanToys®.

PlanToys® is a line of non-toxic, environmentally friendly, educational toys that are made from rubber trees. The company utilizes every part of the trees to manufacture these toys. It also applies certified formaldehyde-free E-zero glue as well as chemicals that do not consist of lead and heavy metals.

“We’re so proud to carry PlanToys® this holiday season—their modern-classic designs are unique and beautiful. Most important, their production standards are incredible. These toys are made in a way that is good for the environment – that’s great for the kids who get to play with them and for the people making them,” says Jean Tamayo, global lifestyle buyer at Whole Foods Market.

Now you can purchase beautifully crafted cameras with kaleidoscope lenses, multi-colored boats for bath time adventures, and musical instruments that provide hours of noise making fun, safe and suitable for children ages 1-5. PlanToys® can be found in Whole Foods Market stores as well as online at shop.pbskids.org. All net proceeds will go towards PBS KIDS’ mission to help children succeed in school and in life. Whole Foods will also donate one percent of their total sales, up to $25,000, to the Whole Kids Foundation.

“Our partnership with Whole Foods Market allows us to provide families a diverse array of resources that foster play, which is essential to a child’s learning and healthy development,” says Lesli Rotenberg, general manager of Children’s Media at PBS. “Along with PlanToys®, PBS KIDS is proud to offer holiday gift-givers a meaningful toy option that is safe, educational and fun.”
