It was an opportunity to be in the presence of greatness; to bask in the glow of virtuosity immersed in waves of aural incredibleness.
Okay, enough with the superlatives!
Can we just say that the season two finale of The Concert Series Formerly Known As Jazz At The G exceeded expectations?
Check out the slide show above, capturing the vocal prowess of Augusta’s own musical genius, Trey McLaughlin, whose YouTube videos have now been viewed nearly 10 million times. Plus photos of The JAMP Masters, who are keeping the music of James Brown alive and relevant for a new generation. They were introduced by James Brown’s “Cape Man”, Danny Ray, who is still as dapper as any man can be! And The Christian McBride Trio, featuring Christian Sands on piano and Jerome Jennings on drums were dazzling. From the looks of things, they had almost as much fun as the audience.
Planning is underway for Season Three, with more amazing artists and new name. (“The Concert Series Formerly Known As Jazz At The G” is just too long!)
