(Event Date Mon 03/27) Each month, Le Chat Noir presents “Tales From The Box”, a night of improve comedy that is as endearing as it is humorous. For March, Monday 3/27 is the night…a comedy show that explores life experiences and creates common ground by making fun of all of them equally. Show time is 8pm at Le Chat, 304 8th Street in downtown Augusta. More info at LCNAugusta.com.
(Event Date: Wed 03/29) Augusta University’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity presents the Gamma PsiClaton, a biking event to raise money and awareness for physical and mental disabilities. There are fun games occurring throughout the day and a Talent Show taking place at 7pm. This is an all-day event happening at the Jaguar Student Activity Center patio beginning at 9am. (Event Date: Wed 03/29) Wednesday evening at 7, the poet “Sa Jules” presents LIFE-LOGUES. It is a spoken word and monologue show featuring real life, real stories and real feelings shared by artists who share their experiences in a poetic format. “Life Logues” takes place at The Doris Building, 930 Broad Street in downtown Augusta. (Event Date: Thu 03/30) The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History presents Women’s History Month Tribute: Keepers of the Dreams Thursday from 6 to 8 at the Lucy Craft Laney Museum on Phillips Street. (Event date: Thu 03/30) Augusta’s Imperial Theatre presents “Deconstructing the Beatles”—a series of films by composer, producer and Beatles aficionado Scott Freiman (FRY-man). The series begins this Thursday with an educational journey into the Beatles’ groundbreaking techniques in creating their seminal 1966 album, “Revolver.” Showtime, 7:30pm. (Event Date: Fri 03/31) Augusta Entertainment Complex presents the Augusta R&B Spring Jam Friday at 8 at the James Brown Arena on 7th St. There are performances by the band Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, award winning R&B artist Ginuwine, multi-platinum R&B group Dru Hill, and six-time Grammy nominated singer and song writer Kelly Price. (Event Date: Fri 03/31) Le Chat Noir is hosting a Shrek-themed trivia night, exploring the adventures of fairy tale characters from an array of movies. After trivia, Le Chat presents the film series “Wages of Cine.” This event takes place at Le Chat Noir on 8th Street from 8-10pm. (Event Date: Tue 04/04) Rock Fore Dough, the annual concert benefiting The First Tee of Augusta, is this Tuesday at The Lady A Pavilion in Evans Towne Center Park. This year’s performers are Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Kip Moore, along with Bethany and The Southside Boys. Gates open at 4pm. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs…but not your coolers. (Event date: Thu 04/06) Next Thursday at the Augusta Common, the Major Rager event returns with a major lineup of musicians. This year’s talent includes The Flaming Lips, Moon Taxi, the Eric Krasno Band, and more. As always, a portion of proceeds from the event benefit Press On—an Augusta-based nonprofit whose mission is to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. (Event Date: Sat 04/15) Saturday April 15th The Lyceum Series and The Cinema Series at Augusta University invite you to EIGA FEST--a day exploring the cinema and culture of JAPAN.
