(Event Date: Thu 06/08)   The Augusta/Richmond County Public Library Headquarters Branch on Telfair Street hosts session one of the “Build a Better World” book club this Thursday at 6pm.  Attendees discuss Representative John Lewis’s 3-part graphic novel series, March, which chronicles the Selma Campaign during the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. (Event Date: Fri 06/09)   The Chamber Music Institute presents their culminating concert Friday evening at 6:30 at the Maxwell Theatre on Augusta University’s Summerville Campus. Open to advanced string, piano, and select wind instrument students, the Institute conducts a week of half-day rehearsals coached by chamber music experts in preparation for the final performance.  The event is free and open to the public. It takes place at The Augusta Canal’s Lake Olmstead Trailhead. Participants in the class--which is open to all ages and abilities--should bring a mat or towel. It’s a live show starring constellations and featuring enchanting tales of heroes and maidens, herdsmen and a harp, and real and imaginary animals.
