Primary Content
The Georgia Logistics sector was a highlight in an up and down monthly jobs report that came out this week.
More than 3,400 logistics jobs were added in May, topping any other sector. Logistics is a massive industry in the state, so much so that an annual logistics summit takes place every year in Atlanta.
Per the State’s own Centers of Innovation, Georgia companies rely on the state’s logistics infrastructure and services to handle and haul more than $900 billion of cargo each year.
The Port of Savannah is one of the busiest ports in the nation, and Atlanta, with two major interstate systems intersecting, is one of the most important logistical cities in the nation.
Amazon recently announced it would hire more than 1,000 Georgians for a fulfillment facility in Jefferson, Georgia. You can find these jobs here. Don’t hesitate to apply, either, as jobs are being filled RIGHT NOW.
These positions start around $11.00/hour, and here are some benefits Amazon provides:
- Health care benefits, starting day 1
- 401(k) with company match
- Holiday and overtime pay
- Paid time off
