Join the GPB team for the Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast, which features a Region 8-6A showdown between Dacula and Lanier at Dacula's Barron Field. 

Here’s a look at both teams that will be featured this week.

Lanier Longhorns

Record, ranking: 6-2, 3-0 in Region 8-6A

Last week: Defeated Apalachee 21-3

Coach: Korey Mobbs is 39-13 in fifth season. 

Best players: Quarterback Zach Calzada is closing in on 1,000 yards passing. A deep stable of running backs is led by Taj Barnes and supplemented by Andre Watson and Zach Charles. Cole Thornton is a threat as a receiver and punt returner. Kameron Brown is the top tackler and Phillip Webb and Jacoby Sharpe are effective pass rushers. 

Dacula Falcons

Record, ranking: 6-2, 3-0 in Region 8-6A

Last week: Defeated Habersham Central 49-7

Coach: Clint Jenkins is 5-2 in first season at Dacula. 

Best players: Quarterback Jarrett Jenkins is a mobile junior with a good arm and has reliable targets in Deontaye Brown and Konata Mumpfield. Trenton Jones, a middle-distance track standout, and Sean McDaniel get most of the carries. The defense is led by Jalen Perry, a cornerback who has committed to Georgia. Jaylen Drummond is a versatile guy who can play anywhere in the secondary. Joseph Lopez is a middle linebacker starting for the first season and is joined by McDaniel and Chris Smith to form a good group. 

Series: Dacula leads 2-0. Dacula won 41-7 in 2017.
