Ever wonder how they figure out which berries are ripe and which ones aren't? Well it's certainly not by people picking through buckets anymore. Working on a farm in Georgia is nothing like it used to be. We check out everything from chickens to goats and blueberries to olives, and discover ranchers who use social media and crops that are monitored by the latest technology. Trust us - Old MacDonald is nowhere in sight. Did you know that they use a centrifuge to make olive oil? Neither did we.

It’s a little-known fact that Georgia farms grew olives back in the 1800s. But it’s becoming a much bigger-known fact that this crop is making a comeback. Thanks to people like State Representative and farmer Jason Shaw, we learn why our state’s climate is so hospitable to the olive, encouraging a whole new industry. And while we’re visiting the southern side of the state, we take a ride on the Georgia Grown Trail to cultivate our knowledge about agritourism.
