Hey!!! Did You Know... Newton County Rams vs. Stephenson Jaguars!!! This Friday Night!

This week’s Football Friday’s match up is between Newton County High Rams vs Stephenson High Jaguars at Halford Stadium at 7:00 pm.
Newton County High School is located in Covington, Georgia and is home of the Mighty Rams. Newton County High was first established in 1949. At the time of its opening, Newton County High was the only high school in its county. In August of 1974, a brand new building was constructed and opened to house the growing number of students. Eventually becoming the new Newton County High; that has a current enrollment of over 2300 students. This high school offers many sports and activities in which each and every student has the chance to show their school spirit. Students have the chance to join baseball, football, girls and boy’s basketball, cheerleading, art club, drama club, and the chance to march with the Sound Factory Marching Band. Hey! Did You Know… That the mighty Rams were featured on Fox 5 “In Your Face” Sports Team of the Week this year, proving that Newton County Rams are a force to be reckoned with and EVERYBODY is noticing, including Stephenson High this Friday?? Maybe?!
Stephenson High School is located in Stone Mountain, Georgia and houses the Mighty Jaguars, the school opened their doors in 1996 where the teachers and staff instill their beliefs that “If you can dream it, you can do it!!” to every student that walks through the door. Stephenson High offers many unique assets outside of the typical high school layout. This high school is equipped with outdoor classrooms that allow students daily access to nature, landscaping, and hands on learning experience during science-based classes. Students at Stephenson decided to show their humanitarian side by making it a mission to help others. Many students helped raise money for Breast Cancer research and earthquake victims from Haiti. Such good deeds among today’s youth should be inspiring for all, Good Job Jaguars! Aside from Sports and humanitarian success, Hey! Did You Know… That during the 2009-2010 school year, 252 scholarships were awarded and offered to Stephenson High School students and those 252 scholarships equaled up to $6,300,000!!! Raising the bar for the rest of the Dekalb County schools. Good Job Jaguars!!!!
