A U.S. Coast Guard ship is offering free public tours in Savannah Friday.

The Seneca was on a two-month deployment in the Southern Caribbean Sea intercepting drugs and migrants.

Petty Officer Ryan Dickinson says it's making the stop in Savannah before it heads back to its home port in Boston.

"It gives an opportunity for the crew to just discuss what they do 'cause not a lot of people know what the Coast Guard does," he said.

People will get a chance to see where the 100 crew members on the ship eat, sleep and work.

The Seneca will be open to tours Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
