In Georgia, there’s a lot to be thankful for. From natural wonders like Stone Mountain to the culture and hospitality of the South, people from all over the state say their thanks in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Tracine Huff was born and grew up in Atlanta and raised a family on the outskirts of the city.
"I've recently gone through so much lately. I'm thankful for life every day. We've just been going through so much. I'm just thankful for life this year. I just pray that everybody make it through Thanksgiving because you know I love Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday. As long as I see everybody's face, I'm at peace. And that's all that matters to me. Peace and my family and being happy," she said.
"We've just been through so much this last couple of years. People just don't know what goes on in that home right there. You never know what somebody's going through. You never know. But I'm just thankful for life. I'm thankful to have both of my sons here with me, my husband, my mother, my brother, my mother-in-law. I know she has dementia, but she's hanging in there. I'm just thankful for life. I'm just working on having peace within myself and making myself happy."
Eric Elmore is orginally from Wisconsin but he's called Georgia home for the last five years.
"Right now, what I'm most thankful for are the relationships I've built. So, relationships with my family, the new friends that I found especially this year more than any. Above all, I'm thankful for my fiancée and this life that we've built together. I've been with my fiancée for the last four and a half years. It's been a good four and a half years."
Iyana Isom is from Macon and lives with her grandmother.
"I'm thankful for my family and having a support system. Most people don't have a support system at all. So I'm thankful for that because I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have a support system, honestly."
James Milling is a father of seven children, his biggest motivators.
"My kids. I have seven. They changed my life in a positive way all away around the board. They made me a totally different person into who I am today."
Lila Miller is from Butler, a town an hour south of Macon.
"I'm thankful for health. I'm thankful for life on this side of the earth. I'm thankful for friends and family. And I'm thankful for a little piece of money so I can shop at the thrift store."
Tom Wiley is from Avondale Estates. He and his wife Tracey adopted Oliver who was an orphan.
"I am thankful for this sunny Georgia weather ."
