Best-Selling Author Jason Reynolds Inspires Young People To Read With Contemporary Tales

Jason Reynolds didn't get through a whole book until he was 17. He's now a bestselling author, and he's trying to change the way young people feel about reading.
On Second Thought host Virginia Prescott speaks with Jason Reynolds.
Inspired by hip-hop, Reynolds now writes books to get young people to excited about reading. He has various awards to his name, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work for Youth/Teen and a National Book Award finalist designation for his book Ghost.
The Little Shop of Stories is hosting Reynolds for an event Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish, where he'll talk about his new book, Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks.
