Political Rewind: National Backlash Continues Amid Abortion Debate
Primary Content
On this edition of Political Rewind, Hollywood is beginning to step up criticism of Georgia's new abortion law. Some movie and television producers are calling for a boycott of the state while others say they’ll still film here but will donate profits to fight the law. Meanwhile, the Alabama legislature is in turmoil as Republicans there fight to pass an abortion bill that’s even tougher than Georgia’s new law.
Legislative measures aiming squarely at schools and students feel the sting of Gov. Brian Kemp’s veto pen. We look at his decision to reject bills on school safety, recess and a measure to protect DeKalb county schools from a tax drain.
Plus, the governor shuts down the state’s controversial immigration review board. And Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is bringing his campaign to Augusta later this week.
