This weekend, 20 of the world’s best equestrian athletes will compete in the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby.

The derby, which is known as ‘the fastest two minutes in sports', will take place in Louisville on Saturday.

 

 

Earlier this month, GPB's Leah Fleming spoke with the man behind the big race: CEO of Churchill Downs Racetrack Bill Carstanjen.

 

They discuss the stories ahead of the Kentucky Derby and whether Georgia would be a good fit for horse racing in the future.
