The midterm elections are 42 days away and Tuesday, National Voter Registration Day, serves as a timely reminder to submit your registration information to be eligible to participate in the November contest.

If you haven't registered to vote yet, you still have two weeks before the Tuesday, October 9 deadline.

Volunteers and organizations across the nation and the state have already begun campaigns to get voters registered. Organizers with clipboards have been spotted at football games, park festivals and churches trying to get citizens signed up ahead of the midterms.

On National Voter Registration Day ahead of the 2016 Presidential Election, more than 750,000 people were registered to vote in the United States.

Early voting is available in Georgia from Monday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Nov. 2 ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

You can complete your voter registration online, by mail or in person. To check your registration status or to get more information on how to register, visit the Georgia My Voter Page
