Last month, the Supreme Court decided to uphold the ban. Chris Richardson, once a former U.S. diplomat, has now become an immigration lawyer at an Atlanta firm.

On Second Thought's Virginia Prescott sat down with former U.S. diplomat Chris Richardson to talk about his life after diplomacy and on to being an immigration attorney.

Richardson was stationed in Madrid, Spain, as an American Citizens Service chief at the time the ban was first implemented in 2017. The Emory University graduate was among those working for the state department who were concerned about the implications this ban would have.

On Second Thought spoke with Richardson about his life as a diplomat under the Trump administration and what he’s been doing since he resigned.
