Temperatures are heating up, but there's still plenty to do this weekend in and around Savannah. Siobhan Egan of Paprika Southern and Marcia Banes of Old Savannah Tours have some suggestions.Siobhan and Marcia talk weekend events.

Marcia's picks:

-For the next week, local residents can find free healthcare through Operation Empower Health. Troops from every military branch will provide medical, dental, vision and veterinary services at four locations in the region. Details available here.

-Art heads to the beach for the SCAD Sand Arts Festival on Tybee's South Beach. Students, alumni, faculty and staff will compete for cash prizes with incredible sand creations. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; free.

-If you still need Mother's Day plans, Savannah Riverboat Cruise has two cruises that day, for brunch and dinner. They include a meal, cruise and entertainment for mom. Sunday, 12-2:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.; brunch :56.95 adults and $35.95 kids, dinner $61.95 adults and $35.95 kids.

-Put the finishing touches on your costume: Savannah Mega Comic Con has arrived at the Civic Center. The event features comics, games, cosplay and special guests, including Jake the Snake Roberts and a former Blue Ranger. Saturday and Sunday; $15 each day, $25 two-day pass. 

-Always wanted to be a princess - or know someone who has? Your chance comes with Belle's Storybook Ball, featuring dancing, desserts and crafts for the kids. Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.; $35-40. Tickets include a seat at next Saturday's Beauty and the Beast matinee.

-Savannah's latest local brewery is opening with a block party on Saturday. The fun includes live music, food from Big Bon pizza and King of Pops and special tall boy glasses for the first 50 people to order a beer. Saturday, 5-10 p.m.; free.
