At March for Science Atlanta's upcoming Rally for Science, the keynote speaker is Emory University professor Linda DeGutis. She will speak on the importance of supporting gun violence research.

In March, President Donald Trump signed a spending bill that includes a provision granting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) authority to conduct research on gun violence.

DeGutis previously served as director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the CDC.
