Trump Administration Pushes 'Alternative Facts' As Feud With Press Escalates

Today on “Political Rewind,” Donald Trump is officially the President of the United States. Welcome news for some, a call to action for others.
But first up on our show, a discussion about the devastating tornadoes in south Georgia over the weekend, which left a reported 15 people dead and many families homeless. We spoke to State Sen. Ellis Black, who represents portions of affected area. Gov. Deal has declared a state of emergency in 16 counties and has pledged assistance. President Trump is also pledging assistance and offering condolences.
It was an extraordinarily newsworthy weekend. Our panel discussed President Trump's reaction to media reports on attendance at Friday's inaugural events, and Sean Spicer's scorching debut as White House Press Secretary on Saturday. Of course there was discussion about Sunday's contentious interview between NBC's Chuck Todd and Kellyanne Conway on "Meet the Press." "Alternative facts" is the new buzz phrase as the battle escalates between the Trump administration and the media.
Opposition to Mr. Trump and his stated agenda on Saturday led to protest marches in Washington, D.C., in cities across the country, and locations around the world – including Antarctica. Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin spoke about her participation in Atlanta's Women's March and what happens next for the movement.
