Georgia ranks 49th in the United States in the number of dentists per capita, according to research by Georgia State University and Georgia Tech. Not getting regular dental care can lead to major health problems, but many people just can’t afford it. That’s why Dr. Nooredin Nurani started the “Community of Smiles” free dental clinic. It will be held for the tenth year this Saturday in Lawrenceville. We talk with Dr. Nurani and Georgia Health News editor Andy Miller about why affordable, quality dental care is out of reach for so many Georgians.

Then, singer-songwriter Adia Victoria has a complicated relationship with the South. She felt like an outsider as a young woman of color growing up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. But it's this point of view that comes across in the guitar riffs and haunting vocals from her debut album, "Beyond The Bloodhounds.” Adia will perform in Atlanta on Thursday night at The Earl. We speak with her about her Southern upbringing and how she found solace and comfort in the blues.

And finally, country music veteran Bill Anderson was born in Columbia, South Carolina but found his voice in Griffin and Decatur, Georgia. He graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and went on to spend the next 50 years becoming one of the most successful singer-songwriters in country music history. His new memoir is titled “Whisperin’ Bill Anderson – An Unprecedented Life In Country Music.” Bill will perform at the Social Circle Theater in Social Circle, Georgia on Thursday night. We speak with him about his music career and Georgia’s country music landscape.
