Summertime fun has arrived in Middle Georgia!  Huffington Post film critic Jackie K. Cooper and local harpist Betsy Fitzgerald stopped by the GPB Macon studios this week to share some events to get you out this month.  Listen to the conversation above.

Theatre Macon is thrilled to introduce our first ever Summer Theatre Festival to debut in July of 2016. See three shows on three different stages.

The great Fats Waller musical “Ain’t Misbehavin” will open July 1, 2016 at Theatre Macon located at 438 Cherry St. in historic downtown Macon and will run through July 16, 2016.

The classic Broadway musical “42nd St.” will open July 8, 2016 at the beautiful Grand Opera House located at 651 Mulberry St., also in downtown Macon, and will run through July 16, 2016.

Lastly, the hilarious take on Shakespeare “The complete Works of Shakespeare, abridged” opens at the newly renovated performance space at Mercer University’s Tattnall Center for the Arts on July 7, 2016 and runs through July 16, 2016.

Tickets to all shows at Theatre Macon will be $25.00, tickets to all shows at the Grand Opera House will be $35.00, tickets to all shows at Mercer will be $20.00. Starting July 7th, Carrabba's Italian Grill in Macon, Ga will be hosting a Story Time and lunch for children every Thursday in July. 

Carrabba's story time will begin at 10:00am with the wonderful Micos reading and interacting with your children. After Story Time, there will be activities while lunch is prepared for the kids.  

The cost for this event is only $1 per child. That includes their meal. Parents and chaperones are welcome to dine as well. However, adults will be required to pay menu price for their meal.This is a perfect field trip for Daycare Centers, as well.

Everyone at Carrabba's strongly supports reading and literacy and are excited to share this with your children.
