Friday on Political Rewind, the fall semester approaches as the pandemic still remains a public health crisis. Some parents remain unsure what schooling will look like in the midst of the pandemic.
The state school board yesterday backed down from a proposal requiring schools to delay opening until early September, leaving that decision to local education officials.
State Rep. Chuck Efstration said the school boards have a tough decision in front of them.
"Student safety is paramount and the safety of their family members is also incredibly important," Efstration said. "But also consideration must be given to economic impact, student instruction and education and many other important issues."
We discussed the latest on Georgia schools and the most recent developments in the dispute between Gov. Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms over mask mandates.
