The 2-3 Atlanta Falcons are coming off Sunday Night's Primetime 25-14 loss to the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers by hosting former Westlake High, Auburn Tigers, and 2010 Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and NFC South foe the Carolina Panthers this Sunday afternoon in the Georgia Dome.
I caught up with Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith at his daily post practice news conference. Coach Smith opens his news conference by listing, by number, the seven players who sat out Wednesday's practice.
Among those who missed practice today due to injury are 88 (TE) Tony Gonzalez, 25 (S) William Moore, 11 (WR) Julio Jones, 75 (OG) Garrett Reynolds, 55 (DE), John Abraham, 62 (C) Todd McClure, and 21(DB) Christopher Owens. The Falcons Coach also announced that WR Julio Jones is out for this week's game against Panthers due to an injured hamstring. Here is Coach Smith.
Kickoff for Sunday's game is 1PM.
