METRO PREVIEW: Lassiter Looks For The Upset
Primary Content
The Walton Raiders are 13-0 for the first time ever, but it is Lassiter that may be a touch hotter as the two meet in the East Cobb Super Bowl II. The Trojans have knocked off two No. 1 seeds so far in these playoffs, and they face another tonight. Eddie Printz has been on fire in these playoffs and Charlie Hegedus and Juwan Dickey are playmakers of the highest order. Walton meanwhile defeated Lassiter earlier this season in Raider Valley and Tyren Jones will look to run past his former team once again. The Walton defense is certainly tough with the Blaylocks.
Tucker heads south after losing a coin toss to face Northside in Class AAAA. The Tigers are led by Juwaan Williams on offense plus two Score 44 members in Josh Dawson and Jacob Sealand. Look out for Yusuf Minor toting the rock. He is a member of the 24 2LOOK4 in 2012. ... Lovejoy has posted eight shutouts this season in its 13-0 start, including a 14-0 win last week. Cornerback Rico McWilliams highlights the defense.
The Buford Wolves were on the wrong end of a coin toss and will head down to face Carver-Columbus. Buford has eight players that potentially could be suiting up for BCS schools next season, and the talent is obvious on the field. The powerful offensive line clears the way for a host of backs including Andre Johnson, Nathan Staub and Rick Legrant. Sam Clay is a quarterback that also excels on the baseball diamond, but the left-hander has proven more than capable of running the offense. The two met up earlier this season and Buford thumped the Tigers 35-7.
