Make That Kid An Offer Nominees: Week of October 5

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Send the details on what you've done over your career, along with your video highlights to GPBSports@gpb.org. If you’re selected we may feature you on our Recruiting 2020 Show Fridays at 7 pm on GPB.
Here is a list of our first week of nominees:
Philip Massengale, ELCA, QB, SR
Massengale played Slot and QB during the 2019 season with over 700 all-purpose yards. He is now the starting QB for the 2020 team. He has 590 total yards in four games this season. Three of his first four games have been against the 2019 5A state champion, the 4A runner-up, and the 3A runner-up…all three teams with strong defenses!

Edwin Mangual, Archer High School, CB, SR
Mangual is a 5’8”, 160 lbs, 3-year varsity starter. He was 2nd team all-region and all-Gwinnett County honorable mention during the 2019 season. He’s got offers from Puget Sound University, Clarke University, Kings College and Huntingdon College. He has interest from Valdosta State, Southern Nazarene University, Missouri Western State University, Concord University and Wingate University.

Amehre Morrison, River Ridge High School, RB/WR, JR
Morrison is a Running back and Slot Receiver who also returns kickoffs. On back squat, he can squat 425 lbs, bench 275 and power clean 255. His 40 time is a 4.49. Through 4 games this season, he has had 827 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He earned all-region and all-state honorable mentions after the 2019 season.

Kaleb Cost, Sandy Creek High School, DB/WR, SO
Cost is a 5'11'', 175 lbs. Defensive Back and Wide Receiver.

Kobe Haynes, West Forysth, RB/SS, SR
Kobe Haynes was born in Baton Rouge, LA in 2008. He is the son of proud parents, Donny and Racquel Haynes. Kobe has one sister, Hailey Haynes, and one younger brother, Ethan Haynes. His family is so proud of him for what he’s accomplished. Kobe has been playing football since he was 5 years old. He’s been playing football for West Forsyth High School since his Sophomore year. In the early 2019 football season, he suffered an injury and had to have ACL surgery. Fortunately, Kobe was able to return to football after going through physical therapy, determination, and having the support of his team and coaches. He played the last three games of the season and was awarded North Georgia Player of the Week.
Kobe strives to become the best football player he can be. He did not allow the Corona lockdown to become an obstacle. He practices every day and enjoys the love of the game and playing with his teammates. As a captain, Kobe exemplifies leadership and is grateful for the 2020 season and the excitement it will bring to the school, families, and community, despite the Corona pandemic.

Brandon Moss, Fayette County, OLB/ RB, JR
6’0”; 175lbs; 4.65 -40yd dash, 275lbs bench; 385lbs Squat; OLB/SS. Special Teams player of the game vs. McIntosh. 2 Tackles for a loss vs. Hampton.

Cameron Barnes, Mundys Mill, MLB/OLB, SR
He’s a senior at Mundys Mill High School. He plays Outside Linebacker, Middle Linebacker, and Running back. He have a 3.4 GPA/3.16 Core GPA. He’s the captain of the football team and he’s also a twin. He’s brother is Corey Barnes and he plays wide receiver and cornerback.

Tyler Griffin, Southeast Bulloch, WR/ CB, JR
Tyler is a 2022 WR/DB that’s 6’4, 200 Pounds. He has 3 offers so far, 2 ACC offers: Virginia Tech, and Virginia, and one from Tulane.

Gerald Kilgore, Putnam County, QB/CB, JR
Gerald Kilgore is a Junior QB at Putnam County High School. Gerald is an active member in his church, where his father is the Pastor. He is a drummer in the church’s band and also plays other instruments. He participates in many community service events with his father through the church and other organizations. Currently Gerald is an honor student maintaining a current 3.6 CORE GPA. Gerald is a natural leader both on and off the field. Football statistics are: Passed for 642 yards 6 TD's, Rushed for 348 yds 3 TDs in 4 games, and Led Putnam to a 4-0 start.

Jerrian Hames, Calhoun, RB/CB, SR
Jerrian Hames is a returning starter for the Calhoun Yellow Jackets. As a junior, he rushed for at least 100 yards in 11 out of 12 games. Through 5 games of his senior season he is averaging 121 rushing yards per game and averaging 11 yards per catch out of the backfield. He currently has 1 offer from University of Pikeville.

Harrison Duncan, Roswell, LB, SR
Duncan is a 6’1 - 205lb, 4-year letterman & 2-year varsity starter @ Roswell playing a LB-Safety Hybrid position. A Team Captain and Leader on and off the field…three games in and Duncan has 23 Tackles, 3 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 FF. He has earned Defensive Player of the Week, Roswell vs Campbell Game & Special Teams Player of the Week against North Paulding. Academic Honors include 3.6 GPA (All AP & Honors), 1240 SAT & 27 ACT. Duncan has a high football IQ & great closing speed. 40 Time - 4.7, Shuttle 4.29, Squat 405, Bench 285 & Power Clean 285. In the community, Duncan started “Roswell Football Seniors Give Back," an initiative to provide sports equipment to the local youth. Both Duncan & Roswell are off to a great start with the Hornets record @ 3-0.
