Jalen Addie ran for three touchdowns and threw for three others to lead Warner Robins to a 62-28 win over Cartersville in the Class 5A championship game.

The victory gave the Demons their fifth state championship and first since 2004. Warner Robins (13-1) had lost in the final the three previous years. Cartersville finished 12-2.

Addie was one of three Demons to top 100 yards, as the team rushed for 342 yards. Addie carried 16 times for 21 yards and three touchdowns, Jahlen Rutherford ran 21 times for 143 yards and one touchdown, and Malcom Brown rushed 13 times for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Addie completed 16 of 18 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns and never came close to being sacked. Daveon Walker caught six passes for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Cartersville got off to a great start when Sam Phillips returned the opening kickoff for a 94-yard touchdown. The Purple Hurricanes were led by quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, who completed 15 of 26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted twice and sacked twice. Devonte Ross and Phillips each had four receptions.
