Jake Pope is a starting safety and wide receiver for Buford High School. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior is the No. 25 safety in the nation and No. 37 overall prospect in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite.

After leading the Wolves to back-to-back 6A state championships, and being named all-region for his efforts, offers started pouring in from all over the country. Pope now has close to 40 offers from schools like: Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Arizona State.

On Aug. 16, 2021, during an intimate gathering of friends and family at Buford High, Pope finally put an end to all the speculation. The 4-star prospect announced he was taking his talents to Tuscaloosa to play for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
