The road warriors from Walton will try to continue their journey through the Class 7A playoffs on Friday with a visit to Brookwood on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.

Walton and Brookwood were supposed to meet during the third game of the season, but that game was cancelled because of COVID concerns. It was not rescheduled. Brookwood defeated the Raiders 43-32 in 2020 and leads the series 4-3.

Walton, the No. 3 seed from Region 3, has beaten Colquitt County 41-17 in Moultrie and Archer 34-7 in Lawrenceville over the first two weeks of the playoffs. The Raiders (8-3) are in the Elite Eight for the first time since 2011, when they reached the championship game.

Brookwood (10-2) is the Region 4 champion. The Broncos have won eight straight games, with wins over Newnan 56-7 and North Gwinnett 17-14 in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Brookwood last reached the third round in 2017, when they advanced to the Final Four.
