About the Lions: Hebron is the No. 2 team from Region 5 and the defending state champion. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Lions, but they are one win away from winning back-to-back titles. Senior Jessie Parish is a first-team all-region player who anchors the interior defense and has good 3-point range. Amiya Porter and Aubrey Beckham were also all-region players and Malia Melton and Nickyia Daniel were honorable mention choices. Daniel scored the winning basket to beat Galloway in the semifinal.

About the Eagles: Mount Paran won the Region 7 championship and has a 12-game winning streak. The Eagles are led by Kara Dunn, the daughter of the coach and the Region 7 Player of the Year. Dunn, who has signed with Georgia Tech, averages 22 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.8 steals. Mount Paran also has four other all-region selections: Katelyn Dunning, Jessica Fields, Kaylynn Kirklen and Shamaria Jennings. The Eagles are trying to win their first state championship.
