The Orange Is the New Black actor grew up the daughter of Nigerian immigrants in a predominantly white Massachusetts suburb. She looks back on her mother's influence in the memoir, The Road Is Good.
Chu takes his inspiration from his dad, a Chinese immigrant who worked both the front room and the kitchen of their family-run restaurant: "The guy that in the back of the kitchen, that was my hero."
Herzog reflects on the curiosity that's fueled his career in the new memoir, Every Man for Himself and God Against All. Just don't expect a deep confessional: "I never liked too deep introspection."
