Make That Kid An Offer Nominees: Week of September 26

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Send the details on what you've done over your career, along with your video highlights to GPBSports@gpb.org. Stats and accomplishments must be verifiable. If you’re selected we may feature you on our Recruiting 2022 Show Fridays at 7 pm on GPB.
Here are our nominees for the week of September 26, 2022:
Brandon Brown, Collins Hill, DB, SR
Brown is a 6’0 178 LBS senior defensive back at Collins Hill High School. He is a two sport athlete - where he serves as a football team captain and runs track. Brown is described as a long and rangy DB with track speed and a 6'6 wingspan. He currently has 19 tackles with three PBUs. Brow has a 3.5 GPA, and desires to attend a university with a sound football team and academics.

Dontae Goodner, Richmond Hill, DT, SR
Goodner is a 6’1 245 LBS senior defensive tackle at Richmond Hill High School. He moved to the states in 2021, after having lived most of his life in Germany on a U.S. military installation. Goodner has worked hard since he’s arrived at Richmond Hill, his football accomplishments include: Region 2-AAAAAA All - Region Defense Honorable Mention #95 and Certificate of Achievement Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman 2021. Goodner has a total of 15 solo tackles, 21 total tackles and averages 4.2 tackles, one sack and 1 QB hurry per game according to Maxpreps,.

Jacarian Grier, Jasper County, OLB/ WR, SR
Grier is a 6’1 175 LBS senior outside linebacker and wide receiver at Jasper County High School. He has started all four years of his football career. Grier was selected to 1st team 3A All-Region 2020, 2nd team All-Region 2021 and was named team defensive player of the year last year. Grier is being recruited by several colleges with two offers as of to date. He has a 3.8 GPA.

Elliott Kuykendall, Cambridge, DE, SR
Kyukendall is a 6’3 240 LBS senior 2023 defensive end at Cambridge high school. Kuykendall has a 3.7 GPA and is a two sport athlete playing both football and baseball. He hits 90 mph on his fastball and is the starting first baseman on the top ten baseball program. Kuykendall is a three-year starter in football with 23 tackles, seven sacks, 10 quarterback hurries, and three tackles for a loss in the first half of his senior season. He was originally a quarterback who made the rare move to defensive end his sophomore season and still plays multiple positions on red zone offense. Kuykendall is a strong, intense, high character athlete, and an even better teammate. Kuykendall is late to the recruiting process and looking for an offer.

Owen Phillips, Milton, DE, SR
Phillips is a 6'1 210 LBS senior defensive end at Milton High School. He had a huge game in Eagles 21-7 loss at No. 9 North Cobb on GPBTV. recording 14 total tackles with 8 solo stops, 3 TFL and a QB sack. For the season that’s 47 total tackles, 9 TFL, 3 sacks and 11 QB hurries. Owen’s motor always running but still looking for his first offer.

DonJuan McGee Jr, Westside, DT/DE, SR
McGee Jr. is a 6’0 240 LBS senior defensive tackle and defensive end at Westside High School. As one of the captains of the team, his motivation, love, and support for each player is unbelievable. Over McGee Jr’s high school career, his quickness to get off the line, determination to make a play, and self-discipline has allowed him to be seen as a powerful player and repeatedly receive the Defensive Player Award each year. McGee Jr led his team in tackles and sacks after the first three games. He has a 3.5 GPA, in the Engineering course, participates in TSA and visits Veterans Elementary School each week as a Student Athlete mentoring the 4th and 5th graders there.

Jaden Rias, Heritage High School, CB/WR, SR
Rias is a 5’9 165 LBS senior cornerback and wide receiver at Heritage High School. He recently received his first offer from Morehouse College over the summer. Last year, Rias made all region with only playing five games due to an injury which he has fully recovered from this season. This year, he has had four passes defended with six targets and 23 tackles, a 90-yard kick return touchdown with 200+ kick return yards. Outside of football, he ran track in the 100m and 200m events. He maintains a 3.62 GPA and scored a 1010 on the SAT. Some of Rias’ hobbies include: cooking, working out, and trying new foods.

Ryan Johnson, Stockbridge, WR/ CB, JR
Johnson is a 5’11 160 LBS junior wide receiver and cornerback at Stockbridge High School. He currently has 13 catches for 98 yards yards in 12 varsity games. Johns maintains a 3.0 GPA. Outside of football, his hobbies are weight training and calisthenics. Rias enjoys spending time with his family and doing various community service programs in the metro Atlanta area.
