The breakdown

1. A federal court in California found evidence that former President Donald Trump knew his claims of election fraud in Georgia were unfounded.

  • U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ordered a series of emails be turned over to the January 6th Committee in their investigation.
  • Judge Carter says the emails are "sufficiently related to and in furtherance of a conspiracy to defraud the United States.”
  • In a Dec. 4, 2021, court filing, Trump cited unfounded claims that more than 10,000 dead people, felons, and other unqualified voters cast ballots for Biden in Fulton County.

2. Herschel Walker attacked Raphael Warnock over alleged evictions in an apartment related to Ebenezer Baptist Church.

  • The apartment, The Columbia Tower, hasn't evicted tenants for failure to pay rent since June 2020, but eviction actions have been issued. The property is managed by a third party, Columbia Residential.
  • After recent allegations that he paid for an abortion, Walker seems to be looking for political points against his opponent.

3. Developments in the U.S. House race in Georgia's 2nd District.

  • U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop and Chris West debated over the weekend. Bishop has maintained his seat representing Southwest Georgia for 30 years.
  • Republicans are hoping to regain a House seat by flipping the district.
