Jimmy Carter, a native of Plains, Georgia, is the longest living president in United States history, was the only president from the state of Georgia, and is the first former president to live to 100 years old. He had many jobs during his lifetime: a naval officer; peanut farmer; Georgia state senator; governor of Georgia; 39th president of the United States; and humanitarian.

9. Jimmy Carter - The Camp David Accords
Grades: 9-12
President Carter's attempt at resolving the dispute between Israel and Egypt almost ended in failure. Egyptian President Sadat threatened to leave the talks at Camp David, but Carter used a personal approach to keep the talks going between Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Begin.
