A state Senate committee today advanced two-bills that could allow a wealthy Atlanta neighborhood to split from the rest of the city.

The State Senate has approved a bill to prevent local governments from passing ordinances to ban gas-powered leaf blowers.

The National Park Service says a long-lost cargo ship from Savannah might have been found off the coast of Long Island.
