2023 GPB All-Finals Boys Basketball Team

On behalf of the entire GPB Sports team, we would like to thank you for watching and supporting the GHSA Basketball State Championships on GPB. To put a wrap on the 2023 season, here is our GPB All-Finals Boys Basketball Team from the eight GHSA State Basketball Championship Games.
Most Outstanding Player
AuMauri Tillman, Westside Augusta – The 6-foot-3 senior guard led the Patriots to their second straight state championship in an 89-81 overtime win over Providence Christian in the 2A Final. Tillman scored a tournament-high 36 points with 7 rebounds (4 offensive), 3 assists and 2 steals while shooting 15-for-30 FG, 4-for-13 on 3-pointers and 2-for-2 FT.
First Team
Braeden Lue, Alexander -- The 6-8, 220 junior forward led the Cougars to their first state championship in the 64-42 win vs Lee County in 6A final. Lue scored 26 points with 12 rebounds (4 offensive) and 2 blocks, shooting 8-for-13 FG and 9-for-12 FT.
Khalon Hudson, Westside Augusta – The 6-5 forward teamed up with Tillman to lead Patriots to their second straight state championship in the 89-81 overtime win over Providence in the 2A Final. Hudson scored 21 points with 13 rebounds (6 offensive), 3 assists and 1 block while shooting 8-15 FG and 5-6 FT.
C.J. Brown, Kell – The 6-2 junior guard led the Longhorns to their first state championship in the 61-53 win vs Eagle’s Landing in 5A Final. Brown scored 22 points with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks while shooting 7-for-14 FG, 1-for-1 on 3-pointers and 7-for-9 FT.
L.J. Moore, Pace Academy – The 6-7 junior forward led the Knights to their third state championship in four years and fifth all-time in the 66-54 win vs Fayette County. Moore scored 23 points with 7 rebounds (5 offensive) with 2 steals while shooting 10-for-16 FG, 3-for-5 FT.
David Thomas, Eagle’s Landing – The 6-2 senior guard scored 23 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals while shooting 9-for-18 FG, 2-for-7 on 3-pointers and 3-for-4 FT as the Eagles finished as a runner-up in 61-53 loss vs Kell in 5A final.
Second Team
Micah Hoover, King’s Ridge – The 6-6 senior forward led the Tigers to their first state championship in the 68-58 win vs Mt. Pisgah in the Class A Division I final. Hoover scored 25 points with 8 rebounds while shooting 7-for-12 FG, 1-for-1 on 3-pointers and 10-for-12 FT.
Zakary Thomas, King’s Ridge – The 6-0 senior guard led the Tigers to their first state championship in 68-58 win vs Mt. Pisgah in the Class A Division I final. Thomas scored 24 points with 5 rebounds while shooting 8-for-14 FG, 3-for-6 on 3-pointers and 5-for-6 FT.
Devin McClain, Providence Christian – The 6-4 senior scored 21 points with 8 rebounds (3 offensive), 4 assists while shooting 7-for-15 FG, 5-for-12 on 3-pointers, 2-for-2 FT as the Storm finished as runner-up losing to Westside 89-81 in overtime in the Class 2A final.
Kyle Greene, Pace Academy – The 6-4 junior guard led the Knights to their third state championship in four years and fifth all-time in the 66-54 win vs Fayette County in the Class 4A final. Greene scored 19 points with 5 rebounds and 2 steals while shooting 9-for-13 FG, 1-for-1 FT.
Isaiah Collier, Wheeler – The 6-4 senior guard led the Wildcats to their third state championship in 4 years and ninth all-time in a 78-58 win vs Cherokee in Class 7A. Collier scored 22 points with 3 rebounds, 7 assists while shooting 9-for-13 FG, 3-for-4 FT.
Third Team
Samuel Thacker, Providence Christian - The 5-11 junior guard scored 22 points with 3 rebounds, 3 assists while shooting 7-for-12 – all 3-pointers -- and 1-for-2 FT as the Storm finished as runner-up, losing to Westside 89-81 in overtime in the Class 2A final.
Micah Smith, Sandy Creek – The 6-8 junior forward led the Patriots to their first state championship in a 66-38 win vs Cedar Grove in Class 3A final. Smith scored 17 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists while shooting 6-for-12 FG, 5-for-6 FT.
Micah Tucker, Mount Pisgah – The 6-2 sophomore guard scored 19 points with 4 rebounds, 4 assists as the Patriots finished as state runner-up, losing to King’s Ridge 68-58 in Class A Division I final.
Arrinten Page, Wheeler – The 6-9 senior forward led the Wildcats to the championship in a 78-58 win vs Cherokee in the Class 7A final. Page scored 15 points with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks while shooting 7-for-9 FG, 1-for-2 FT.
Braylin Giddens, Cherokee – The 6-2 senior guard scored 17 points with 6 rebounds while shooting 5-for-8 FG, 1-for-2 on 3-pointers, 6-for-6 FT as the Warriors finished runner-up, falling to Wheeler 78-58 in the Class 7A final.
