- White and others in the cityhood movement were dealt a large blow this legislative session when bills backing the movement failed.
- Gov. Brian Kemp was against the movement.
2. Stacey Abrams announced she will join Howard University.
- Abrams will be the inaugural Ronald W. Walters Endowed Chair for Race and Black Politics.
- Abrams has said she'll travel back and forth between her Georgia home and the school in Washington, D.C.
- Davis, a longtime activist, cited concerns about the controversy.
4. Democrat Mesha Minor draws criticism from own party over voucher vote.
- The Atlanta Democrat voted with Republicans in support for school vouchers, a measure that failed during the session.
- The vote prompted pushback from her own party, even prompting State Sen. Josh McLaurin (D-Sandy Springs) to donate $1,000 to a possible primary opponent.
