  • In an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bill White says he and his husband will move to Lake Burton.
  • White and others in the cityhood movement were dealt a large blow this legislative session when bills backing the movement failed. 
    • Gov. Brian Kemp was against the movement.

2. Stacey Abrams announced she will join Howard University. 

  • Abrams will be the inaugural Ronald W. Walters Endowed Chair for Race and Black Politics.
  • Abrams has said she'll travel back and forth between her Georgia home and the school in Washington, D.C.

3. Angela Davis returns an award from the city of Atlanta in protest of planned police training center. 

  • Davis, a longtime activist, cited concerns about the controversy.

4. Democrat Mesha Minor draws criticism from own party over voucher vote. 

  • The Atlanta Democrat voted with Republicans in support for school vouchers, a measure that failed during the session.
  • The vote prompted pushback from her own party, even prompting State Sen. Josh McLaurin (D-Sandy Springs) to donate $1,000 to a possible primary opponent.
