Are you a 'Vampire Diaries' fan? This Conyers film studio liquidation sale has the goods
Primary Content
Georgia bid farewell to writer Julie Plec's TV series The Vampire Diaries in 2017 after eight seasons of filming in Covington, Ga. But the series also yielded two spinoffs: The Originals, which ran 2012 through 2018 followed by Legacies, which wrapped last year. In addition to Covington and New Orleans, filming locations included Georgia cities Madison, Conyers, Rome and Macon.
Tens of thousands of items from the three series, including large set pieces such as a bar and barstools, framed oil paintings and upholstered furniture in the gothic style, are available for sale at a warehouse located in Old Town Conyers.
The sale also features a wide variety of buffalo, deer, boar and other taxidermy mounts as well as art deco chandeliers and light fixtures, bronzes, carpets, mirrors and table decor.
The Originals production designer Bill Eigenbrodt told TV Insider in 2015 that the set for the show was built to look like a decaying New Orleans courtyard.
“Along with the gas lamps, the creeping vines, and the wrought iron railings, this fountain evokes the sensuality of the French Quarter,” Eigenbrodt said. “We found it in Georgia, but to fit the scale of the courtyard, our plasterers and sculptors had to add another section to give it additional height.”
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, April 23, 2023. Click here for more information.
