Clark Atlanta University sets up fund to help students affected by flooding on campus

LISTEN: The Atlanta Mayor's office says the city received three hours' worth of rain in just 15 minutes on Thursday, leading to flooding in the Georgia Aquarium and the Clark Atlanta University campus, high enough to submerge parked cars and dorm rooms. GPB's Donna Lowry reports.
Clark Atlanta University set up an emergency fund to help students affected by flooding on campus. The flash flood on Thursday left some students without their dorm rooms.
The Atlanta Mayor's office says the city received three hours' worth of rain in just 15 minutes.
The swift downpour in downtown Atlanta and surrounding communities led officials to evacuate the Georgia Aquarium because of flooding.
The streets on the Clark Atlanta campus flooded high enough to submerge parked cars. Videos from students showed some of them wading through waist-high water in one of the dorm hallways.
The University released a statement saying the school relocated 24 students into available on-campus housing.
Clark Atlanta University is asking for donations through the student emergency fund to help students affected by the floods.
