Jack Wilkes

1st Sergeant
Navy

Jack Wilkes grew up in a house without electricity and, so, had to be told by a neighbor that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. He enlisted in the Navy to help serve his country. Mr. Wilkes remembers accidentally dropping depth charges on a whale, how he almost lost his leg, and receiving a letter from the great-grandson of a friend who died during the war.
