James Ellington, Jr. was born on May 11th, 1927 in Washington, GA He joined the army at the age of 18 and served in the Army Air Corps. He left the service with the rank of Sergeant. In his interview he discusses the day he learned of the attack at Pearl Harbor when he was fourteen years old, war time rationing on the home front, and feeling lost in the Air Corps until he found a General he knew from Columbus, GA.
