Major General
Army Air Corps
Joel B. Paris was born in December of 1922. Volunteering right after high school graduation, Paris began a long and illustrious military career that would span three decades and bring him to the rank of Major General. During the war, he served in the Army Air Corps, flying in the Pacific. An accomplished pilot, Paris recalls getting yellow fever, jaundice, and dengue fever at the same time, getting his right earphone shot off in an aerial battle over open water, and just what it takes to become the "ace" of a squadron.
