Mr. John A. Tinsley, a native of Cairo, Georgia, relates his experiences in the India/Burma theater of war in the Army infantry. Mr. Tinsley describes his training experiences, in particular his exposure to mustard gas and saving a soldier’s life during an “infiltration” exercise. Mr. Tinsley was enroute to join Merrill’s Marauders when he was injured during action on Lido Road. His injury sent him to Kurachi where he joined the Quartermaster Corps.
