Mrs. Julia E. Tarpley was born on August 20, 1922 in Suwannee, Georgia. Mrs. Tarpley was a riveter for the Bell Bomber Plant building B-29s. Recounting her experiences, Mrs. Tarpley talks about how the women were doing their part for the war and how it made them feel like they could do anything a man could do.
