Mr. Robert V. Brookshire was born April 2, 1918. Mr. Brookshire was a sergeant for the U.S. Army in the 609th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He did reconnaissance for the battalion and shares his remembrances of the engagements at Mietz and the Battle of the Bulge at the Ardennes Forrest. Mr. Brookshire’s narrative includes his capture of a town in Germany while on a recon mission, as well as a special mission to escort Werner Von Braun.
