Tom M. Dews was born in Georgia in July of 1917. He served with the Army Air Corps and trained troops for the war effort. Mr. Dews recalls having a brother who escaped a sinking ship at Pearl Harbor, training troops for the Airborne, and narrowly avoiding combat in the Pacific.
