Navy
William F. Owens was born in April of 1926. After enlisting in the Navy, Mr. Owens was assigned to the U.S.S. *Nevada*, a ship that was rebuilt after nearly being destroyed in Pearl Harbor, and spent time in Europe and the Pacific. Mr. Owens recalls making three trips from Boston to Belfast with supplies, how the skies at Normandy turned black with airplanes, and surviving a kamikaze attack that resulted in eighty-two casualties.
