A 2012 inductee into the NATAS Gold Circle, Smith began his broadcast career at a 250 watt radio station in Quitman, Ga. Since then, he has worked in local (WAGA), network (CNN), and public (GPB) television, winning 22 Emmys and broadcasting’s most prestigious award, the Peabody. Co-creator and Executive Producer of the GPB series "Your Health Matters", he was also writer/producer for "Today in Georgia History", and produced the documentaries “Alzheimer’s: Hope for Tomororow, Help for Today” and “First Family from Plains.”
