One of Georgia’s most exclusive products is making its seasonal debut this week. Vidalia onions are making their way to stores and markets near and far. Atlanta State Farmers Market announced on its Facebook page that they’ve received a shipment of the golden veggies overnight and they are ready for sale today.

Since 1990, the Vidalia onion has been Georgia’s State Vegetable. It’s guaranteed not to become anyone else’s state veggie since it has a legally limited growing area. The curiously sweet onion is limited to select counties or parts of counties in the central and southeastern regions of the state.
