Tractor Supply Company officially opened its new 690,000 square foot distribution facility in Macon.

Pat Topping, senior vice president of the Macon Economic Development Commission, said in The Macon Telegraph that the new distribution center in the southern part of the county will have a $50 million impact and has brought nearly 300 jobs to the county.

Tractor Supply Company began in 1938 in Chicago as a mail order tractor parts business. They now operate over 1,223 stores in 46 states and are the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in America.
