We often talk about what teachers want from students and parents. But we don’t often turn that question over to students. What DO students want? I stumbled upon a few posts on Twitter on that topic when I followed the hashtag #edchat. The most poignant answers came from a 2009 YouTube video I stumbled upon produced by students from Mrs. Pope’s summer video class titled “What Students Want.”

Here are some of their answers:
1.) To be successful in life
2.) To be recognized.
3.) Learn how to make the right choices.
4.) To make a difference in the world.
5.) Teachers to get to know us first BEFORE they judge us.

Watch the entire video right here. It’s very powerful. So what have your students told you they want? Leave a comment here.
